The origin of Ramayana
It was a bunch of curses that made Lord Vishnu to take the avataram (form) of a mere mortal and experience all the joys and agonies a human being undergoes on earth. 1) Once Lord Vishnu visited Brahmaloka, the abode of Lord Brahma. Along with Goddess Saraswati, and his mind born sons, the Kumaras, Lord Brahma came to welcome Lord Vishnu from Vaikuntha. Lord Brahma had a mind-born son called SanatKumara who also happened to be there along with his father. SanatKumara noticed Lord Vishnu but did not go and greet him. He stood silently. Lord Vishnu addressed Sanatkumara, "Your ignorance makes you forsake your desires for fear of rebirth. You must be born as Sara-Janma to be troubled with desires, Sanatkumara."
